The Cotswolds

The Cotswolds is home to some of the most unspoilt, historic and famous towns and villages in England. Beautiful villages such as Painswick nestle in the Cotswold Hills, sure to delight any visitor. Historical market towns such as Cirencester, Tetbury, Stroud and Tewkesbury offer excellent local shopping with thriving markets bursting with local produce. For those visitors looking to enjoy the coutryside from a more urban base the larger towns of Gloucester, with its historic waterfront, and Regency Cheltenham Spa offers impressive architecture, stylish shopping and world-class horse racing.

Gloucester Warwickshire Steam Railway

The Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway is a volunteer-run steam and diesel heritage railway which runs along the Gloucestershire/Worcestershire border in the West Midlands.

England's most complete Regency spa town, most of the town centre lies within a conservation area of outstanding national importance. Elegant town houses characterised by intricate ironwork balconies and painted stucco facades, line the historic Promenade, squares and terraces. Cheltenham was specifically designed in its 18th and 19th century heyday as a pleasure health resort for wealthy visitors, the legacy of which is an exceptional range of quality accommodation, restaurants and stylish shops.

Bath is best known for its natural hot springs and 18th-century Georgian architecture. The museum at the site of its original Roman Baths includes The Great Bath, statues and a temple; the facility’s Pump Room serves a popular afternoon tea. Today’s visitors can soak in the waters at the contemporary Thermae Bath Spa.
